Dear Rob and Wale:

(1) It was my great pleasure to have met with you and Wale (and your very cute baby) yesterday at VictorÕs office.

(2) I thank you for your expedite msgs with kind words (ATTACHMENT I below).

(3) Pls feel free to send the references (References (b) to (c) above) to your colleagues at the Stevens, the World Bank, and Indonesia.

(4) In 2012, we successfully conducted matchmaking between GLORIAD and ÒAfrica Coast to Europe (ACE)Ó ultra high speed (5 tera bps) optical fiber submarine cable of Baharicom Development Company along the west coast of Africa (Reference (e) above).  Subsequently, our African colleagues (even in the South Africa) can now connect many higher educational and healthcare institutions and research organizations in northern hemisphere (Reference (f) above).

(5) We are now then forging ahead to hold our planning workshop for our Global Early Warning System (GEWS)/Global University System (GUS) project at the GLORIAD office at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville (UTK) as following the suggestion given from the US National Science Foundation — see the last page of the Reference (b) above.

We will then become eligible to encourage our African colleagues to apply independently to the PEER program of the US NSF/US AID joint program.

In the near future, we will proceed to get the Japanese ODA fund as mentioned in the last page of the Reference (b) above.

(6) Subsequently, the purpose/objective of this April 18th conference at the Stevens Institute of Technology (Reference (a) above) are as follows;

(a) Publicize the inauguration/availability of GLORIAD through ACE as widely as possible
(Reference (f) above).
(b) Introduce Global Early Warning System (GEWS)/Global University System (GUS) projects with the use of GLORIAD/ACE,
(References (b) and (c) above),
(c) Introduce GEWS/GUS project participants among selected ECOWAS country members for the policy analysis on the co-prosperity among ECOWAS countries,
(Item (3) of Reference (a) above).

Dear Rob:
I was very delighted to hear that your people have already done many global videoconferencing.

(7) As said in the References (b) and (c) above, our GEWS project is to promote rational scientific approach to the policy analysis/evaluation among bureaucrats and young would-be decision-makers/leaders.

Pls visit the Reference (g) above for the case of Nigeria which I mentioned to you at our mtg yesterday.

Dear Rob:

(8) I would greatly appreciate it if you can arranger another mtg with your technical people at your earliest convenience — this is because we would need many, many coordination which would take a lot of time — this is out of my previous experiences in 1980s and 90s, when I organized the so-called ÒGlobal Lecture Hall (GLH)Ó multipoint-multipoint, multimedia, interactive videoconferencing using hybrid technologies once or twice every year as connecting many, many universities around the world — using sometime almost 11 channels on 9 satellite transponders — all at free of charge!! -- Reference (h) above.

Dear Ed:

(9) Very glad to have met with you, too, after so long time.  I have been really appreciated your initial introduction to Victor.  Pls come to our mtg at any time whenever you have time — also to our Columbia University seminar, too.

Looking forward to receiving your response soon,

Best, Tak

Tak,
Thank you for a very informative meeting.  Your project is quite ambitious and I am happy to be invited to share a small part in it. Thank you Wale for making the introductions.
I will communicate with my contacts at the World Bank and Indonesia to see if I can help further your cause.
Best regards,
Rob
